Casino!, combining a satiric review
of Oakland, California politics with a serious look at the issues
involved in Indian gaming in urban areas, entertained enthusiastic
audiences in two successful runs in 2004 and 2005. Judith wrote
the book and lyrics; the music is by Joyce Whitelaw. A Shirtwaist Tale, the Klezmer musical, had its initial production in 1999. With book and lyrics by Judith, and music by Arkadi Serper, the centers on the true story of the 1909 strike by shirtwaist workers in New York City. Moving Matters, Judith's first produced musical, had its premiere in Pacifica, California, in 1993. The show followed the struggles of the Matters' family, with at-home Mom and at-work Dad, faced with the possibility of an uprooting move. |
